First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looked at whether using a low-acid contrast dye during ERCP (a procedure to treat bile duct problems) can reduce the chance of developing pancreatitis afterward. Researchers reviewed records from over 3,800 patients aged 18 to 90 across five hospitals in China. They compared rates of pancreatitis and other complications between patients who received standard contrast and those who received a low-acid version.
