New test may reveal hidden cancer after liver ablation
NCT ID NCT01494324
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at tissue from liver tumors that were destroyed using heat or cold (ablation). The goal is to see if a special test on that tissue can tell whether the treatment fully killed the cancer, which standard CT scans cannot always do. About 150 people with liver cancer that spread from another part of the body are taking part. The results may help doctors better predict and monitor treatment success in the future.
