Scientists probe hidden liver process driving high blood sugar

NCT ID NCT06955130

Summary

This study aims to better understand why blood sugar is high in type 2 diabetes by measuring how the liver makes new sugar from fat and other molecules. Researchers will compare this process in healthy, obese, and diabetic adults using special tracer infusions and blood tests. The goal is to find new, more direct targets for future diabetes drugs.
