First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested whether placing elderly patients with high blood pressure in a legs-up position just before anesthesia could prevent a sudden drop in blood pressure. Sixty patients aged 65-80 were randomly assigned to either have their legs raised or stay flat. The goal was to see if this simple, no-cost method could keep blood pressure stable and reduce the need for emergency medications.
