Could a simple fluid test replace brain surgery for kids with tumors?

NCT ID NCT05934630

First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a liquid biopsy—testing the fluid around the brain and spinal cord—can find tumor DNA in children and young adults with brain tumors. Researchers collected extra samples during routine care from up to 57 participants. The goal was to see if this safer, non-surgical test could one day replace risky tissue biopsies for diagnosis and monitoring.
