Narrower radiation after brain tumor surgery aims to spare healthy tissue
NCT ID NCT07368283
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether using a smaller radiation target area after glioblastoma surgery can control the tumor while causing fewer side effects. About 79 patients will receive limited-field radiotherapy plus standard chemotherapy. The main goals are to see how many patients are alive without tumor growth at 6 months and to measure serious brain damage from radiation.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
limited-field radiotherapy plus temozolomide chemotherapy
What this could lead to
If successful, this approach could reduce long-term brain side effects from radiation while still controlling the tumor.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase study with no control group, so results may not be definitive. The limited radiation field might also miss some cancer cells, increasing the risk of recurrence.
