Brain light therapy tested for Hard-to-Treat schizophrenia symptoms

NCT ID NCT05339347

Summary

This study tested whether light therapy (photoneuromodulation) could help reduce the negative symptoms of schizophrenia in people who hadn't responded well to other treatments. Thirty participants received either real or fake light therapy sessions in a carefully controlled crossover design. Researchers measured symptom changes and looked at brain chemistry before and after treatment to understand how it might work.
