Brain light treatment tested for depression relief
NCT ID NCT06934135
Summary
This study tested whether a non-invasive light therapy, delivered through a headset to the forehead, could help reduce symptoms of major depression. Fifty adults with depression were randomly assigned to receive either real light treatment at different settings or a fake (sham) treatment for 18 sessions over 6 weeks. Researchers measured changes in depression symptoms and looked at brain activity to see if the treatment worked and how it might affect the brain.
