Numbing gel may make uterine exams less painful
NCT ID NCT07318285
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a tiny amount of lidocaine (a common numbing medicine) placed inside the cervix before a hysteroscopy can reduce pain. About 208 women will receive either lidocaine or salt water, then rate their pain and satisfaction. The goal is to make this routine exam more comfortable without changing the procedure itself.
