First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving lidocaine through a vein during gallbladder surgery can reduce inflammation and pain, and help the gut start working again sooner. About 90 adults having planned laparoscopic gallbladder removal will be randomly assigned to receive either lidocaine or a placebo. The goal is to see if this simple addition improves recovery without major side effects.
