Summary
This study tests a drug called LHP588 in 300 people with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's who also have a gum infection from P. gingivalis bacteria. The drug aims to target that bacteria to slow down memory and thinking decline. Participants take a daily capsule for up to 48 weeks, and neither they nor their doctors know if they get the real drug or a placebo.
