Summary
This study tests a daily capsule called LHP588 in 300 people with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's who also have a mouth infection from P. gingivalis bacteria. The drug targets the bacteria to see if it can slow down memory loss and other symptoms. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive LHP588 or a placebo, and neither they nor their doctors will know which they are getting. The study lasts up to 64 weeks and requires a caregiver to help with visits.
