Can a supplement duo boost fertility in women with PCOS?
NCT ID NCT07266259
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether taking levocarnitine together with myoinositol works better than myoinositol alone for improving insulin resistance and hormone levels in women with PCOS who have trouble getting pregnant. 72 women aged 18-40 with insulin-resistant PCOS will take either the combination or myoinositol alone for 3 months. Researchers will measure changes in insulin resistance and hormone levels to see if the combo offers extra benefits.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Levocarnitine and myoinositol (dietary supplements)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could point toward a better supplement combination for managing insulin resistance and hormone levels in women with PCOS who have trouble getting pregnant.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial with only 72 participants and no blinding, so results may not be reliable or apply to everyone. The supplements may not work better than myoinositol alone.
