New pacing technique aims to protect hearts after major surgery
NCT ID NCT07372196
First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tests a new type of heart pacing (left bundle branch pacing) in 30 people with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy who have already had a myectomy surgery and are at high risk for sudden cardiac death. The goal is to see if this pacing method can prevent heart failure from getting worse, reduce dangerous heart rhythms, and help the heart pump better. Participants will be randomly assigned to get either the new pacing or a standard dual-chamber defibrillator, and their heart function and quality of life will be tracked for 12 months.
