First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tested a new device called the Leaf Self Expander in 20 children with cleft lip and palate to widen the upper jaw. The goal was to see if it works better than the standard expander by measuring bone and tooth changes with 3D scans. The children had already had lip and palate repair surgery and needed expansion before a bone graft. The study is complete, but results are not yet published.
