NCT ID NCT07299474

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether smelling lavender essential oil during awake ear, nose, and throat procedures can lower anxiety and pain. About 184 adults will be randomly assigned to receive either lavender aromatherapy or a placebo (odorless liquid). Participants will rate their anxiety and pain before and after the procedure. The goal is to see if this simple, non-drug approach improves patient comfort.
