Lavender power: could a simple scent ease pain and anxiety during clinic procedures?

Summary
This study tests whether smelling lavender during awake ear, nose, and throat procedures can lower anxiety and pain. About 184 adults will be randomly given either lavender scent or an odorless placebo during their procedure. Participants will fill out short questionnaires before and after to rate their anxiety, pain, and how relaxing the scent felt.
