NCT ID NCT05490927

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study explored whether experiencing subtle racial slights (microaggressions) makes Latinx smokers want to smoke more or makes it harder to quit. Thirty daily smokers who identified as Hispanic or Latino took part. Researchers measured their smoking behavior, withdrawal symptoms, and cravings after being exposed to microaggressions. The goal was to understand how discrimination might affect smoking habits and relapse.
