Laser light eases pain after gum graft surgery, study finds
NCT ID NCT06073678
First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether shining a low-level red laser on the roof of the mouth after gum graft surgery helps reduce pain and speed up nerve recovery. Thirty adults who needed gum grafts took part. Some received laser treatment on the donor site, while others got standard wound dressing only. Researchers tracked pain, sensation, and quality of life for up to 60 days to see if the laser made a difference.
