NCT ID NCT06578650
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a synthetic fiber matrix called Restrata, placed directly into surgical wounds after skin cancer removal. Researchers will track how long it takes for the wound bed to granulate (fill in with new tissue) and fully heal. The trial enrolls 34 adults with wounds between 4 and 36 square centimeters.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Synthetic electrospun fiber matrix (Restrata)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could provide a faster, more effective way to heal wounds after skin cancer surgery, reducing recovery time and complications.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 34 participants and no comparison group, so results may not apply to everyone. The device may not improve healing over standard care.
