First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looked at whether being in labour slows how fast the stomach empties a light meal. Researchers used ultrasound to measure stomach size in 43 women: those in labour with or without epidural, pregnant women not in labour, and non-pregnant women. The goal is to help guide safe eating recommendations during labour.
