First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looks at a rare, often fatal disease called KSHV-associated multicentric Castleman's disease (MCD), caused by a virus. Researchers want to understand how the disease works and test several experimental drug combinations, including zidovudine, valganciclovir, bortezomib, and others. About 75 adults aged 18 and older will participate, with frequent blood draws and tumor biopsies. The goal is to improve treatment and learn more about the disease, though direct benefit to participants is not guaranteed.
