Blood study aims to uncover new clues for back pain disease

NCT ID NCT03322618

First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looked at blood samples from 24 people with axial spondyloarthritis (a type of inflammatory back pain) and 12 healthy volunteers. Researchers wanted to understand how a protein called KIR3DL2 affects inflammation and test whether a lab-made antibody can reduce that inflammation. No treatments were given to participants, so the study was purely for gathering knowledge.
