Can tape or therapy soothe Post-COVID back pain?

NCT ID NCT07744451

First seen Aug 04, 2026 · Last updated Aug 05, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This trial asks whether kinesiotaping or traditional physiotherapy better eases mid-back pain that lingers after a COVID-19 infection. Adults who have recovered from COVID-19 and now have mechanical mid-back pain will receive either elastic tape applied to the back for 10 days or sessions with hot packs and vacuum interferential current therapy. Pain levels are measured before and after treatment to see which approach offers more relief.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Kinesiotaping (elastic tape applied to the back) and conventional physiotherapy (hot packs and vacuum interferential current therapy)
What this could lead to
If effective, these treatments could offer simple, non-drug options to ease lingering back pain after COVID-19, improving daily comfort and function.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage comparison, so results may not apply broadly. Pain relief may vary, and neither treatment is a guaranteed cure for post-COVID back pain.
