NCT ID NCT07763925

First seen Aug 13, 2026 · Last updated Aug 14, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This trial tests whether adding Pilates to a desk-based exercise program offers extra relief for female office workers dealing with pain, poor posture, and burnout. Forty-two women with desk jobs will be randomly assigned to desk exercises alone, desk exercises plus Pilates, or no exercise. Over six weeks, researchers will measure changes in pain, posture, core endurance, burnout, and eating behavior to see if the combined approach makes a difference.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
A combined program of desk-based exercises and mat-based Pilates, performed three days a week for six weeks.
What this could lead to
If effective, this combined exercise approach could offer a simple, low-cost way for office workers to reduce musculoskeletal pain, improve posture and core endurance, and lower burnout.
What could go wrong
This is a small, short-term trial (42 participants, 6 weeks), so results may not apply broadly. Benefits might be modest, and adherence to the exercise routine could be a challenge.
