Fear of movement may hinder recovery in LVAD patients
NCT ID NCT07394621
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at whether fear of movement (kinesiophobia) affects how well heart failure patients with a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) can move and function. Researchers will measure fear levels and physical capacity before and one month after patients leave the hospital. Participants will also get simple activity recommendations to see if reducing fear helps them recover better.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this study could show that reducing fear of movement helps heart failure patients with LVADs recover better, pointing toward better rehabilitation programs.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early observational study with only 37 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. It measures changes over one month, which is a short time.
