Fear of movement may slow recovery in heart pump patients

NCT ID NCT07394621

First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study looks at whether fear of movement (kinesiophobia) affects how well heart failure patients recover after getting a mechanical heart pump (LVAD). About 37 adults who are waiting for a heart transplant will have their fear levels and physical abilities measured before leaving the hospital and again one month later. The goal is to see if reducing this fear helps patients move better and feel stronger.
