Light therapy and donor cells aim to stop kidney rejection

NCT ID NCT07083830

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 10, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This early-phase trial tests whether giving kidney transplant recipients a special infusion of their donor's light-treated cells, followed by regular light therapy sessions, can safely reduce the risk of organ rejection. About 24 adults receiving a first kidney transplant from a living donor will take part. The goal is to find a safe dose and see if this approach lowers rejection rates compared to past patients.
