Scientists search for clues in kidney tissue to understand diabetes drug effects

Summary
This study aims to understand how certain diabetes medicines (called SGLT2 inhibitors) affect the kidneys. Researchers will examine stored kidney tissue samples from 200 adults with diabetic kidney disease who are already having a biopsy or surgery as part of their regular care. By comparing tissue from people taking these medicines to those who aren't, they hope to learn how the medicines might protect kidney health over time.
