This study collected blood, urine, and kidney tissue samples from 90 hospitalized COVID-19 patients who also had acute kidney injury. Researchers aimed to better understand how COVID-19 affects the kidneys and to identify potential treatments. Participants were followed up three months after leaving the hospital.
