Breakthrough combo: ketamine shot & online therapy tested to rapidly stop suicidal thoughts

NCT ID NCT06480500

Summary

This study is testing if a combination of intravenous ketamine and online cognitive behavioral therapy (i-CBT) can quickly and effectively reduce suicidal thoughts and behaviors in people with treatment-resistant depression. Over 13 weeks, 110 participants will all receive weekly online therapy, but half will also receive six ketamine infusions while the other half receives a control medication. The main goal is to see if the combination leads to a greater reduction in suicidality within the first month compared to therapy alone.
