Surgery drug tested to fight pain, opioid use, and trauma stress

NCT ID NCT06903819

Summary

This study is testing if giving a single dose of ketamine during surgery helps adults with serious bone injuries recover better. Researchers want to see if ketamine reduces pain after surgery, lowers the need for strong opioid painkillers, and improves symptoms of depression and PTSD. They will compare 90 patients who get ketamine during their operation to those who receive standard anesthesia without it.
