Could a party drug ease long COVID's debilitating symptoms?

NCT ID NCT06821087

Summary

This small pilot study is exploring whether ketamine, a medication used for anesthesia and depression, can help relieve the persistent fatigue and cognitive problems ('brain fog') experienced by people with Long COVID. Twenty adults will receive four ketamine injections over two weeks, with researchers measuring changes in their symptoms, brain function via MRI, and blood markers. The goal is to see if this approach is safe and shows enough promise to warrant larger studies for a condition with very few treatment options.
