New imaging tool tested in surgery: a clearer view inside?
NCT ID NCT07259759
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested a new imaging device called the JURA System during minimally invasive abdominal surgery. Twenty adults scheduled for elective surgery had the device used to capture images of organs and tissues. The main goal was to see if the images were clear enough to be useful. This was a first-in-human feasibility study, meaning it was an early step to check if the device works as intended.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
JURA System (imaging device)
What this could lead to
If successful, this device could help surgeons see internal organs more clearly during minimally invasive abdominal surgeries.
What could go wrong
This was a very small, early feasibility study with only 20 participants, so results may not apply broadly. The device is still in development and may not improve surgical outcomes.
