Summary
This study tested whether a new medicine, JS1-1-01, is effective and safe for treating moderate to severe depression. It involved 267 adults who were randomly assigned to receive either the drug or a placebo (a dummy pill) for comparison. The main goal was to see if the drug reduced depression symptoms more than the placebo, as measured by standard psychiatric rating scales.
