New hope for bile duct cancer: targeted combo targets hard-to-treat gene mutation

Summary

This study tests a precision medicine approach for people with advanced biliary tract cancer that has a specific IDH1 gene mutation and has stopped responding to standard chemotherapy. About 300 participants will receive a combination of ivosidenib (a targeted pill) plus either lenvatinib or an immunotherapy drug. The goal is to see if this combination can shrink tumors or slow cancer growth.
