Summary

This Phase 2 trial tests a drug called ivonescimab, either alone or with chemotherapy, in people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer that has certain genetic changes. What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Ivonescimab (a drug that targets PD-1 and VEGF-A), carboplatin, and pemetrexed

What this could lead to

If successful, this could offer a new treatment option for people with advanced lung cancer that has specific genetic changes and has stopped responding to other therapies.

What could go wrong

This is an early Phase 2 trial with only 46 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The drug may not shrink tumors or could cause side effects like immune-related reactions.
