First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether holding a simple thigh muscle contraction for 5, 10, or 20 seconds best improves strength, pain, and daily function in people with knee osteoarthritis. 127 adults aged 40-65 with mild to moderate knee arthritis took part. All also received ultrasound and TENS therapy. The goal is to find the simplest, most effective exercise duration to help manage symptoms.
