NCT ID NCT07236463
First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This early-stage study tests whether adding the iron-binding drug MEX-CD1 to dialysis fluid can safely remove extra iron in adults with sepsis and acute kidney injury in the ICU. Fourteen participants will each receive two 24-hour dialysis sessions—one standard and one with the drug—to compare iron removal and safety. The goal is to see if this approach can reduce iron-related damage without causing harm.
