Chemo-Seeds planted in brain show promise against deadliest tumors

NCT ID NCT07356973

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This phase 2 trial tests whether placing tiny chemotherapy-releasing seeds directly into the brain after tumor removal can help control glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. About 147 adults with either recurrent or newly diagnosed glioblastoma will receive the seeds plus standard care, or standard care alone. The goal is to see if the seeds delay tumor regrowth and improve survival.
