Blood protein may reveal hidden insulin problems
NCT ID NCT01648478
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a protein called IRAP, found in the blood, can be used as a marker for insulin sensitivity (how well the body uses insulin). Researchers measured IRAP levels in 21 healthy adults during a special test called a hyperinsulinemic-euglycemic clamp, which is the best way to measure insulin sensitivity. The goal was to see if IRAP levels could replace this complex test in the future.
