First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looks at whether giving breastfeeding mothers a daily tablet with iodine and other nutrients can improve their baby's brain development and thyroid health. About 600 mothers and their infants in Ethiopia will take part. Half will get the supplement for 6 months, and the other half will receive standard care. Researchers will measure baby brain activity, breast milk iodine levels, and infant growth to see if the supplement helps.
