No more goopy dye? 3D scans may spot plaque and cavities faster
NCT ID NCT07555223
First seen May 03, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests whether a 3D intraoral scan (a camera that takes pictures inside your mouth) can detect dental plaque and cavities as accurately as current methods like dye and X-rays. About 50 adults aged 18 to 70 will get both the new scan and the standard checks so researchers can compare results. If successful, this could lead to quicker, more comfortable dental exams.
