Could taking drug holidays improve CLL treatment?

NCT ID NCT07014917

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether taking the targeted drug venetoclax on an intermittent schedule (with breaks) works as well as taking it continuously, when combined with acalabrutinib, in people with previously untreated chronic lymphocytic leukemia or small lymphocytic lymphoma. About 62 participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two schedules. The goal is to see if the intermittent approach can achieve similar remission rates while possibly reducing side effects.
