First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether a condition called intermetatarsal bursitis (inflammation between foot bones) causes pain in people with rheumatoid arthritis. Researchers used MRI and ultrasound to examine the feet of 3 participants and tested steroid injections. The study was terminated early, so no firm conclusions can be drawn.

Active substance

corticosteroid injection

What this could lead to

If successful, it could show that treating foot bursitis with steroid injections eases pain in rheumatoid arthritis patients.

What could go wrong
