First seen Apr 03, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study looks at whether combining traditional Chinese medicine with standard Western treatments can slow or stop spine damage in people with ankylosing spondylitis, a type of arthritis that causes back pain and stiffness. Researchers will follow 210 adults for up to two years, using MRI scans to measure inflammation in the spine. The goal is to see if this integrated approach helps control the disease better than Western medicine alone.
