First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looks at whether adding a low dose of the diabetes medication insulin detemir to a low-calorie diet helps people with obesity and type 2 diabetes lose more weight and improve brain function related to food reward. 240 adults aged 31-60 will be randomly assigned to either diet alone or diet plus the drug for 26 weeks. The goal is to see if the drug boosts dopamine signaling in the brain, leading to better weight loss and heart health.
