Custom workouts aim to keep college athletes Injury-Free

NCT ID NCT07521215

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study will test whether an 8-week personalized exercise program can reduce injury risk in 100 university basketball and volleyball players. Athletes who score below certain thresholds on balance, strength, and flexibility tests will receive tailored exercises. Researchers will then track injuries over a 6-month season to see if the program helps prevent them.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

individualized exercise program

What this could lead to

If successful, this could provide a practical, low-cost way to prevent sports injuries in young athletes.

What could go wrong

This is a small, non-randomized study with no blinding, so results may be biased. The 6-month follow-up is short for assessing long-term injury prevention.
