Jawbone graft may boost dental implant success in front teeth
NCT ID NCT07460076
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at whether using a small piece of bone from the back of the jaw (maxillary tuberosity) can help rebuild the bone around a dental implant placed immediately after a tooth is pulled in the front of the mouth. Researchers will measure bone thickness, gum thickness, and appearance in 15 adults. The goal is to see if this technique leads to better long-term stability and a more natural look.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
autogenous maxillary tuberosity bone graft
What this could lead to
If successful, this approach could improve the stability and appearance of dental implants placed right after tooth extraction in the front of the mouth.
What could go wrong
This is a very small, early study with only 15 participants and no comparison group, so results may not apply widely. Risks include graft failure, infection, or implant loss.
