Sleep apnea breakdown: MRI may reveal why new freezing treatment works

NCT ID NCT06434558

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This observational study looks at why the Cryosa Procedure, a new treatment that freezes tissue in the throat, helps some people with obstructive sleep apnea. Ten adults already getting the procedure will have MRI and ultrasound scans before and after treatment. Researchers want to see if throat fat or nerve activity predicts success, and if the treatment works by reducing throat fat.
