Rewriting traumatic panic memories: a new therapy on trial
NCT ID NCT07769996
First seen Aug 18, 2026 · Last updated Aug 19, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This trial tests whether a 6-session therapy called Imagery Rescripting (ImRs) can reduce panic disorder symptoms by changing how people recall and process traumatic panic attack memories. Adults diagnosed with panic disorder are randomly assigned to receive the therapy or be in a control group. Researchers measure changes in symptom severity and physical arousal (heart rate and skin conductance) during memory recall, right after treatment and one month later.
