New monthly shot aims to keep schizophrenia symptoms at bay

Summary
This study tests whether a long-acting injection of iloperidone can delay or prevent the return of schizophrenia symptoms compared to a placebo injection. About 400 adults with schizophrenia who need ongoing treatment will receive either the drug or a placebo and be monitored for how long it takes for symptoms to worsen. The goal is to see if this monthly shot helps people stay stable longer.
