Could a single injection heal worn-out spinal discs?
NCT ID NCT07254806
First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tests an experimental cell therapy called IDCT for people with chronic low back pain caused by a single degenerated disc in the lower spine. About 162 adults will receive either IDCT or a sham procedure to see if it safely reduces pain and improves daily function over two years. The goal is to control the disease and ease symptoms, not to cure the underlying disc degeneration.
